Common problems
Some phones shut apps down the moment the screen locks, whatever the app asks for. Samsung, Xiaomi, Huawei, OnePlus and Oppo are the usual culprits.
Open Settings inside Pacekeeper, find Battery optimisation, and let the app run without limits. On some phones you also have to mark Pacekeeper as never sleeping in the phone's own battery settings.
GPS needs a clear view of the sky. Under trees, between tall buildings or indoors, positions wander and the distance suffers. Give the phone a few seconds outdoors before you press Start, and watch for the message that says the signal is still being found.
Auto-pause stops the timer after thirty seconds without movement. If you walk very slowly, turn it off in Settings.
Open the paywall from any locked feature and tap Restore. That asks the store what your account already owns. You must be signed in to the same account you paid with.
The payment covers the phone rather than one person, so every profile on it is unlocked.
Pacekeeper uses the speech engine already on your phone. Check the volume, then check that Voice updates is on in Settings and tap Play a sample before you go out.
Some Samsung phones ship an engine that refuses other apps. Installing Google Speech Services, or choosing another engine under Text-to-speech in your phone's settings, fixes it.
Yes. Tracking, history, splits, elevation and the export all work with no signal at all. Only the route map and the optional weather need a connection, and both fail quietly without one.
Refunds are handled by the store rather than by us. On Android, use the order history in Google Play. If something is broken, write first and we will try to fix it.
Android's direct device-to-device transfer brings it across. Pacekeeper is excluded from Google's cloud backup on purpose, because your routes are not ours to store.
To keep individual sessions, export them as GPX before you switch.
